Three Day Training Program of CRY South Partners on "Laws Related to Children"

The Centre for Child and Youth Justice (CCYJ), NALSAR University of Law recently conducted a three days residential training program on “Laws Related to Children” for the NGO Child Rights and You (CRY)’s south region partners from February 24th to 26th, 2025 at the university campus. The program saw participation of managers, program directors, coordinators, project holders, consultants, community organizers and other field level staff from the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Vice Chancellor Prof Srikrishna Deva Rao delivered the keynote address and released a compilation of laws titled ‘Laws Related to Children’.

The participants were trained in the nuances of the child related laws and role of social workers through interactive lectures, group discussions, field visit and case studies. Sri D. Durga Prasad, Addl. District Judge, Nalgonda, Sri Ch. K. Bhupathi, former PDJ, Rangareddy district, Dr. Md. Imtyaz Rahim, DCPO Medchal district, Dr. M. Murali Krishna, UNICEF Telangana State Coordinator, Prof. G.B. Reddy, Senior Professor of Law, Osmania University, Dr. Isidore Philips, Child Rights Activist, Divya Disha Foundation were some of the resource persons.

Simultaneous translations in respective languages were also provided. The Valedictory session was presided over by Prof. N. Vasanthi, Registrar who also distributed the certificates to the participants.
